Founded in 1853 it was making 12 million hand-blown bottles a year as the largest producer of bottles in Europe. The waste glass was thrown into the sea to be tumbled by the waves into the seaglass folk search for today. Closed in1921 and now the site of Seaham Harbour Dock Company.
