The Pit Wheel , Seaham Past

£45.00Price

The Pit Wheels were landmarks seen across the country for over a hundred years

Seaham Colliery, known as The Knack, employed 1,700 men mining 2,500 to 2,800 tons of coal a day from far out under the sea. The site is now a school.

Within four years of the mines being closed all visible traces of mining were gone.
